The Outdoor Soccer tournament has traditionally been CCV’s celebrated kick-off event. Last summer, WorkSafeBC triumphed over PriceWaterhouseCoopers with admirable teamwork to nab the first-place spot. This year, teams will return to Burnaby Lake Sports Complex to compete in the 7-on-7 tournament. Whether you’re cheering on your co-workers, making new friends on the field, or playing for the win, the CCV Outdoor Soccer Tournament is sure to deliver a fun time!

1. Games are played seven-on-seven.

2. Each game will consist of two 20-minute halves with a 5-minute halftime break. Each team is allowed on 20-second timeout per game.

3. The tournament is set up for round robin pool play with tiered playoffs.

4. Teams are seeded after round robin based on a point system: a win = 3 points, a tie = 1 point, a loss = 0 points. The top teams in each pool based on points will advance to Tier 1. Bottom teams will advance to Tier 2.

5. In playoffs, a single elimination bracket will be used.

1. Rules are based on FIFA rules modified for Corporate Champions Vancouver.

2. Notable modifications include: No slide-tackling, no off-sides, and substitutions are made on the fly.

3. There must be at least two members of the opposite sex on the court at all times, not including the goalie, such that the gender ratio is either 2:4 or 3:3.

1. The only prohibited footwear is six studded soccer cleats. All other soccer shoes and running shoes are permitted.

2. Shin pads are mandatory as per the FIFA rule.

3. Game balls and nets will be provided.
